CPA Exam Pattern
Each of the exam sections (FAR, AUD, REG, BEC) comprises of five smaller sections which are called testlets. Each of the testlets tests different items types in order to test the knowledge and skills of the candidates. There are three different types of exam items that will appear within the specific test lets in each section
1) Multiple choice questions (MCQs):These will be presented in the first two testlets of each exam section
2) Task Based Simulations (TBS):
These are in the form of case studies. There would be 3 TBS testlets in AUD, FAR and REG exam sections and 2 TBS testlets in the BEC section
3) Written Communications Tasks:
These appear only in the BEC section and would be in the form of a memo/ letter.

This is a 4 part exam of 4 hour each which you need to pass to qualify for CPA exams. It is provided on behalf of the state boards and is managed by 3 partners:
- AICPA: It develops and scores the exam
- National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA): It manages the National Candidate Database
- Prometric: Delivers the test at its centers
Yes, the requirements are specific to the state board from where you choose to be licensed
You must pass all the exam sections within 18 months from passing the first exam.
The fee has 3 components:
- Application fee; which is state board specific
- Examination fee to be changed to $224.99 per section
- International testing fee $356 per section (subject to change)

The First step is to apply for foreign credential evaluation for the jurisdiction you are eligible. Once you receive your evaluation report, you can submit your application for exams to NASBA. The VGLD support team will guide you with the entire process.
CPA exams have now been launched in India by AICPA , NASBA and Prometric only for the months of June, September and December 2020 .So, any candidate planning to take exams in India can schedule any section of the US CPA exams in India during these three months.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, CPA exams in India will be held only for the months of June and September’2020. We are hopeful that the CPA exam testing in India will continue in the near future and that the testing period will be further extended. You will be updated with respect to any further developments in this regard.
